A major new report commissioned by Group Training Australia (GTA) takes a closer look at how apprentice wages compare with what it costs them to live.
The findings have implications for both the recruitment and retention of apprentices attracting them to the trades in the first instance and then getting them to complete and ultimately for the supply of skills for Australian industry. The report Living standards of apprentices, was researched and written for GTA by the Centre for Applied Research in Social Science (CARSS) at the University of New England.
